To say Sand Valley is somewhat remote, could be slightly underestimated. But where else do you discover the hidden gems?
Located just outside the small town of Pasłęk, Poland, the journey to Sand Valley is a 1-hour drive from Gdansk, the incredible coastal city that has been practically rebuilt since World War II.
Walking around Gdansk you can easily misplace your bearings and confuse it for Amsterdam or Copenhagen – but without the bikes. The post war rebuilds focused on establishing its historic ties with The Netherlands and the Dutch renaissance period.
Dlugi Targ highlights the renaissance with a walk down the entire street not to be missed. On the way don’t miss any of the fantastic restaurants, churches and nearby waterfront. All in all a visitor experience not to be missed.
At Sand Valley there are no ties to The Netherlands, Finland if you are counting, but there remains a battled history and a golfing journey that is worth listening to should you find yourself with a seat at the table.

The trip
Having travelled by car and plane on previous trips, it seemed only natural to try something new. Boat; or Ferry to be precise. Connections between Sweden and Poland are plentiful and gave us options. The option to travel overnight, the option to take in beautiful Gdansk and the ability to move about before a short 90 minute drive to Sand Valley.
